It has a black color with brown brown foam which quickly DISIP it is light in the mouth and gives a note of bitterness and smoke aftertaste. it is with 5.0% alc/vol

Very black body with a large tan crown, walls of lacing left behind with every sip. Very mild aroma with mild burn chocolate campfire smoke and some coffee. Ckalky bitter mild taste, some chocolate, some ash the ash really lingers in the after taste. I can even detect hints of sweet vanilla. Taste overall is light and crisp making this a very easy drinking stout.

This bottle is the same as pictured but 5%abv. Pours a black or dark, dark brown with a big tan head leaving lots of lacing. A thick chunk of foam sticks around for a while floating in the middle of the glass. Looks great. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasted coffee. Flavour is really good with coffee, roasted malt, and bitter chocolate. Nice bitter finish. Really smooth mouthfeel, although slightly thin goes down extremely well. Really good brew.

A brown/blackish coloured stout that looks awesome. The head was thin, tight, but disappeared quickly. The aroma was Roasted malt, some yeast, and a little coffee. The flavour profile was strong on the roasted malt, and little bit of cocoa bitterness. Not a bad beer, but not a memorable beer.

If you prefer your stouts dry rather than sweet then i highly recommend this brew. Pours dark black with a decent tan head that laces very well and lasts most of the way down the glass. Taste and aroma are primarily coffee but the finish has a nice bitterness to it.Mouthfeel is above average and this is a very easy drinking and smooth tasting stout. And the label is cool too

First time having this beer. I like the line of Wychwood beers. This one didn't really stand out to me. Looked like any other stout. Had a black body and brown head. Had a hint of coffee taste. The more I drank the more bitter it got.

This beer was the odd man out in this tasting. I like stouts...figured this would be a traditional one as it’s from the UK...bzzzt wrong! I didn’t expect much with arty label and the trendoid embossed clear bottle but it wasn’t skunked. Poured a lucid dark brown instead of the expected dead black color of traditional stouts....this looks more like weak porter. The pour was anticlimactic (and I hated to defile such trendy packaging actually opening it and drinking the artfully wrapped contents)...what you saw in the bottle was what you got in the glass...low carbonation, weak nose..some coffee some malt, light goldings...very weak. Stated watery for a stout...medium-light malt body outbalanced by hops..finish comes fast with nothing left on the tongue to impress but a bit of astringency. This would be a passable mega porter if it had more malt character. Not bad but not good and the package and price is overstated for the contents.

Nice clear 500 ml bottle. Very nice for a stout, with a managable amount of bitterness. Nice body and nutty aftertaste. I was more of a man of fiddler's elbow then this, but i think all the Wychwoods brews are pretty good.

Dark brown/black, no head. Very thin for being a stout. Smoky/roasted aroma with hints of caramel. Roasted malt in taste with hints of licorace. Mostly roast in the aftertaste.
