When Kirby Nelson was about to fire up the WBC kettles, he realized he needed a beer to drink while he was busy creating more beers. #001 is the result. A smooth lager with great flavor, a true “brewer’s beer.” Kirby should know; he’s had plenty. “For our first brew, I picked Willamette variety Hops from Gorst Valley for their woody, earthy flavor accents. They give this Amber a moderate richness, a nice depth of flavor and a great malt portfolio. This beer is really well-balanced. That makes one of us.” - Kirby Nelson, Brewmaster Great With: Savory food pairings. Medium spicy foods like pizza, pasta, tomato sauces, chili and hamburgers. If you’re snacking on cheese, try Gouda, Monterey Jack or White Cheddar.

A slew of Wisconsin beers came my way via The PfoxyJohn. This is the first one I tried. Nice light amber color, tight head, some lacing. Plenty o' malts and earthy hops presence, slightly caramelly, extremely quaffable, straight up for the style. Thank you John.
