Sampler size sample. An odd take on the dIPA style, this poured with the usual head and with decent lacing. The aroma was of citrus and light pine. The flavor, while it had citrus and pine elements, was lacking a malty rich base that many a dIPA is known to have. The flavor offerred by the malts was also minimal, yet some sort of an odd character was underneat the hops, some funny candy-like aspect? The alcohol was well hidden, hard to believe a dIPA. A decent brew by a brewery that doesn't confine itself to style guides.
