Glen Falconer was passionate about friends, familly, and great IPAs. So in tribute, we’ve created an IPA worth of this master brewer. Made with Falconer’s Flight hops from Hopunion, LLC, a blend named for Glen himself. The result is a bright, moderately bitter IPA with stonefruit aromas and a strong malt backbone. We think Glen would approved. Proceeds from the sale of Falconer’s Flight hops go to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation, providing scholarships to professional and aspiring brewers. In addition, Widmer Brothers Brewing is making a donation to grant two additional scholarships. Learn more at www.glenfalconerfoundation.org. Prost! To true hop heads.

I'm really liking the rotator IPA series. This is another winner in my book--not an outstanding IPA but still very solid. Citrusy, spicey, and earthy hop aroma and taste. Solid malt backbone keeps things balanced. Light bitterness in the finish.

eh. maybe getting old. nice-ish floral and citrus aroma, flavor shows a little more spice than expected, but the malt is too prevelant. had a nelson iipa today that was much better.

    12oz bottle -

A little more balance with this beer than the previous X-114 IPA. I don't mind balance but I appreciate a hop-foward IPA too. The aroma is really floral, and the sweetness really amplifies the floral hop aspect. Flavor has a spicy malty/woody hop 1-2 punch going on. Some alcohol noticeable in the flavor but not out of control or anything. A nice IPA, but I did enjoy the X-114 more.

Sampled on 9/26/2011. This IPA pours a medium to deep orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is floral and citrusy, with a touch of melon. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and floral. Medium bitterness with a nice hop bite. Decent carbonation. A nice balanced IPA, no big hops, no big malts, just a nice IPA with a nice hop bite. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, but lingering.
