Whistling Paddler was inspired by the moment when you come to realize that you’ve managed to leave all the concerns of the “real world” behind. With smooth notes of chocolate barley accompanied by a local cascade hop melody, that moment, and this beer, will catch you by surprise and make you think… Life is good!

On cask at Arrow & the Loon, under the name "Dixie Paddler". Pours a hazy caramel amber colour with a warm cap and patchy lacing. Caramel malt aromas with some grassy hops. Banana notes eventually comes out. Mild watery caramel taste at first, but hops come out in the finish. Bitterness get stronger in the aftertaste. Medium-light bodied. Nicely balanced between the caramel and hops.

Had on tap at Arrow and Loon, Ottawa. Beer menu lists it at 4.5%abv. Served full to the brim, leaving no room at all for any head. Has a dark amber appearance. No lacing. Average retention. Aromas of hops and light wheats and malts, dark fruits (plums). Some floral and citrus hop flavours abound and notes of roasted barley malts and a touch of grains. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Has somewhat of a chalky mouthfeel. Goes down fairly smooth and easy.
