Pours out like a black hole in space with a black head. The aroma has hints of hops, coffee and chocolate. The mouthfeel is like drinking cement. The flavor is molasses, chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. This is fantastic and like drinking liquid gold.

Another fine offering from Weyerbacher (the secret is to cellar their bigger offerings folks) and the combination of traditional Imperial Stout base with a Belgian yeast proves successful within this brew. Calm aroma of heavily roasted malt, dark berries and fresh tea are subtle while leading to the goodness. Slick black body with a fading head and minimal spots of lacing. Big, bold, creamy and smooth...A masterpiece on the palate as you can feel the massiveness all the while being comforted by it's robust pat on the back. Ample amounts of berries and assorted dark fruits with a quick roasted malt content backed by some black licorice, buttered toast and baker's chocolate. Then the Belgian yeast adds that faint Trappist bier familiarity that eventually pulls all the pieces together in wonderful fashion. This is why I look forward to reviewing beer now a days.

Let me start by stating that my experiences with Weyerbacher's beers has always been good. And this one is no different. Perfect midnight blackness wuth a bif frothy textured, light brown head rising above. Good hang yime settling into a thin ringlet. The nose and tasting to a larger extent are a beautiful dance of roasted malt, dark cherries, yeast, semi-sweet chocolate and a hint of coffee. Perfectly crafted in a thick, well carbonated drink.

Weyerbacher, latin for "haha, tricked you again" .. . Pours a dark prune black, decent foam .. . light coffee, blackened grain, and cooked on molasses .. . a bit muddled but an ok brew .. . here we are at Piccadilly Circus - wow, what a shitty circus..

Aroma is strong and mainly of semi-sweet chocolate with a subtle smoky undertone and a hint of quality coffee. It pours a nearly black sable with a thick, fine-bubbled tan head that leaves some decent lacing though it doesn't hang around very long. Mouth-filling flavor has strong tones of semi-sweet chocolate and coffee, as well as hints of molasses and licorice and a rather strong alcohol bite. Texture is fairly fizzy and rough - you can feel the alcohol nip at your innards all the way down the hatch.

Dark as night pour, fluffy two finger head that quickly dissipated to naught. Aroma was that of the remnant of a campfire. The flavor was accordingly exytremely ashy with lots of sweetness. I’d call this an Imperial Ash ale...but in an enjoyable way.

OK first of all this is an Imperial Stout. It is listed as a Belgian strong ale.

Smells very alcoholy with some malt and roasted coffee tones, a hint of chocolate. Pours thinnish black with a ok tan head that lasted a minute. Medium body that leans towards full but not really there. SMooth finish with good carbonation. Flavor is high alcohol taste with some chocolate and coffee. I think it is over roasted.

Pours dark black with an overexcited coca cola head - pour slow! Aroma is roasted coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel is smokey. Flavor is roasted coffee and chocolate with a burnt but sticky finish.
