After being selected as People’s Choice winner at Welly Cask Fest last fall, we couldn’t resist bringing this delicious recipe back for another spin. Bringing together our two of our favourite things, Cry If I Want To is the perfect summer beer. This tasty Sour IPA has a tangy tartness upfront alongside juicy citrus hop flavours from Mosaic, Amarillo, and Cascade hops. This tasty Sour IPA will be available on Thursday July 25th at our brewery, online, and at select bars and restaurants across Ontario.

The beer pours a slightly hazed medium gold colour with a thin tan coloured film that stands in for a head. The aroma is soggy bread, tart fruit, yeast and floral perfumy hops. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is tart fruit, lemon, grains, and a mildly bitter hop finish. Tartness and bitterness are well balanced here.

Tall can part of mixed 4pk. Pours a fairly small foamy white head and has a hazy golden yellowish appearance. Thick soapy lace. Moderate carbonation. Aromas of citrus, floral, grassy hops, some subtle lemony and yeasty hints. Flavours are also quite citrusy, some pine and grassy hops, lemony hints giving it the subtle sourness on the palate. Also some hoppy bitterness in the finish.

Part of their 4-pack Welly Volume Eight. Pours a hazy light-golden, yellow colour with a frothy, bubbly warm off-white head fizzing away quickly, leaving a little foam ring. The aromas show a lot of lemon notes, with the zest hoppiness, and sour from inside the fruit. The taste has sourness, but not to the extreme. The citrus, mostly lemon fruit comes across and some light tart is left. Feel a little mild for 5.7% ABV. so if you like a not-as-potent sour beer, this could be for you.
