poured from a bottle to a murky honey color. the aroma was honey and tea. the taste was pretty solid. a strong honey presence with a nice malt finish. felt to me like beer to have sitting next to the pool on an 80 degree day. I pulled ths out of the fridge as my friend dansting heads to hawaii to soak in the sun for a week while I suffer through more snow here in kc. :)

Lagers have a rough time in the microbrew world. In the rated categories, it is sub-par to almost all ales (which is just about every style of beer)HOWEVER THIS IS AVERAGE FOR A LAGER. Not to malty or hoppy, therefore it lacks aroma, and is a little light on flavor. Good carbonation which is standard for most lagers. Crisp and clean. Not bad for a lager. Not bad for drinking a few "normal" american style beers. But don't expect to get blown away.

Bottle. Poured a clear yellowish color with a light white head. Nice aroma for a lager. Full mouthfeel. Not too carbonated. Flavor is nice and malty, with a strong flavor. A lot better than I expected. Not bad at all.

In keeping with my recent "obscure lager" phase, here's a bottle that is at least a bit closer to home. And you know what? This aint bad, really.

Typically yellow and fizzy in appearence -- my pseudo-doppleganger Greg Koch would be so disappointed in me right now! ;) -- but with enough life to it to give some decent scores on that front.

Not so much so with the aroma, or lack of, really. No skunkiness, but nothing else to speak of, really.

Thankfully, at least the flavor profile works for me. Reminded me of less bitter Prima Pils -- a bit softer around the edges, I guess you could say. Not that it's a bad thing, but this beer's flavor and mouthfeel seemed a bit "mushy", especially when I had this without the benefit of some food to balance it out. Some odd acridity in the extreme backend, too...

As with many other lagers of this ilk, it's only shining moment is in the drinkability department. As I mentioned, this went down pretty well with a sandwich..., but kinda lost a step or two when sampled solo. But even still, pretty thirst quneching -- could see drinking a few of these whilst in Hawaii.

A rather typical microbrewery Lager, that I wouldn't turn my nose up at in Hawaii. But here (Stateside), I can think of a few better things to toss my money towards....

Light gold color. Medium head. Aroma is grassy, fruity and sweet. A light bodied lager. Malts are fruity and fairly sweet. Hops are slightly spicy, I guess. VERY sweet, nearly cloying in its sweetness. There is a touch of hops at the finish. The rest of the taste is wet cardboard, corn and grain that is masked by its sweetness. Barely drinkable. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is sweet.

This beer pours a very light golden color with a thin white soapy head which dissipated rapidly and no visible lacing other than a loose island or two. Clear liquid however and very visible carbonation tornado effect. The aroma is metallic, medicinal, citrusy, lemony and slighty piney. The flavor is light bodied, heavily carbonated and a mixture of mouth-puckeringly sour fruits...lemons and pineapple and a piney prickly sticky finish. Cloying bitterness, wet cardboard finish. This is barely drinkable at best, and questionable in all respects. Absolutely awful finish...thanks but no thanks.
