The beer presents itself with its silky matte amber colour with orange reflections and a velvety soft foam crown. The complex aroma is initially dominated by the caramel aromas with a slight undertone of honey, burnt almonds and fresh fruity notes, which are mainly reminiscent of green apple. The Grevensteiner looks lively and elegant. A light toasted bitter note , paired with nutty flavours, opens up a pronounced finale in which an aroma impression of cream caramella unfolds.

Squat little 50cl bottle pours with a gold body that has an opaque sort of haze and supporting a dirty white head of foam. The mild aroma offers up the typical sweet maltiness and faint pear and apricot fruitiness and where timid levels of spicy and floral hops try to come through but in the end really do not. The taste has a sweet thickness that builds up and makes drinking more than one of these a chore where there’s a mix of sweet sugary malts and a thin layer of light skinned sweet fruity esters. I get some mild vague bitterness that sort of has a spicy to floral edge to it. Typical.

50cl can from Selver, Tallinn. Pours slightly hazy amber with a decent, off-white head. Malty and slighty fruity with mild grassy and vegetable notes. Moderate to medium sweet with fairly low flavour intensity and ditto bitterness. Fair enough.

March 2018: 330 ml stubby bottle, from Edeka Sophienhof, Kiel. ABV is 5.2%. Hazy deep golden to brownish colour, small white head. Very malty and grainy aroma, smells like a brewery malt loft. Also biscuity notes, a hint of caramel. Malty and grainy flavour too, again hints of biscuits and caramel, also roasted almonds, decent hops. Unusual and interesting.

The beer is golden brown, slightly hazed, and capped with a white bubbly head that lasts. Aroma is grass, light caramel, weak honey, and yeast. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is grainy malt, weak caramel, and bitter hops.
