A proud and passionate Bavarian, Hermann was one of our original Brewmasters. He handcrafted this traditional German recipe to satisfy his longing for a local beer that reflected the true taste of his homeland. Consistently recognized as one of the world’s best dark lagers, this refreshing beer has a toasty malt body, yet is very smooth and finishes clean. We hope you enjoy our authentic Bavarian Dark Lager. Prost!

Not the best beer I've had from this brewery, but still drinkable. Poured a very dark amber colour (like a Coke!) along with an almost brown foamy head. Aroma was a teeny tiny bit of malt matched with some light hopping. Taste was rather more malty and also had some coffee in there as well.

Dark black color, medium head. Roasted malts, slightly sweet. Nicely hopped, good balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Smooth taste. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

I have not ever tried Hermanns Dark, but my girlfriend’s father Loves it. He says that it is the best beer that he has ever had and has even had it shipped fully across the USA in order to obtain it. Therefore I gave it a better than average rating out of respect to him.
