Lambics are truly the “wines” of the beer world. With wine one speaks of “gout de Terroir” because the land so influences a wine’s flavor. With Lambics, one must speak of “gout de Tonneau SM“ because each cask (tonneau) produces a lambic that matures and tastes different. Blending these Tonneau is such an art that there exist independent Geuzestekkerij (blenders) who buy young Lambic then age and bottle it under their own name. Lambickx™ is Vanberg & Famille’s brand of hand-selected and blended lambics. Every Lambic with the Lambickx™ name is made from casks personally tasted and chosen by Don Feinberg, one of the first importers of Belgian beer to America and founder of the first Belgian-only brewery in the U.S. Don chooses his Lambics for their complexity, brilliance and drinking excellence both by themselves and as exquisite accompaniments to food.

Refreshingly funky. Grassy, lemony, barnyard-y. Quite carbonated but not overly so, the pucker hits just right and was thoroughly enjoyed...............

I was really excited to pop this beauty on a warm spring day. Attractive hazy yellow pour with a quick burst of carbonation but otherwise still. Strong tart aromas of apples and funky horse blanket. Tartness up front with notes of apples, pears, and lemons. Quite the exquisite blend and happy to have tried.

Stellar beer, provided by none other then bluesandbarbq. Shared in the company of a few other BPers at Lou's shindig. Having a Gueze is always a treat. This one was beautiful. Cloudy orange with a hint of pink when held up to the sun. Head, is creamy, spritzy and kind of a tease. Aroma is of tart fruit, strawberries and pink lemonade. Flavors are absolutely delicious, equally tropical and sour. Loved it!

Busted out by Lou while the sun was brightly shining at the 2011 Hootenanny tasting. Cloudy golden orange body with minimal head and lacing. Pungent aroma of tart fruits and complimentary cheese to add to the already musty yeast. Mildly tart with a fine sour quality that was surprisingly clean. Sure did cleanse the palate nicely. Traces of pears, sour apple and a splash of funk rounded out this mighty fine Lambic.

Bottle from Belmont Party Supply in Dayton, OH - sampled at the Hootenanny on 11/5/11 with pfoxyjohn, kinger, phishpond and phish's better half. Pours a slightly cloudy straw yellow orange with a slight head and bits of lacing. Tart aroma most definitely: funky, yeasty, lemony, zesty but still something about it is mellow and refreshingly lemongrassy. Taste is tart but not mouth puckering; light zesty lemons offset by mellowing yeasts, citrus, blended funk. Just a damn good refreshing Super well-crafted (and well-blended) lambic. Great right after the barleywine believe or not - good palette cleanser. Glad I stumbled upon this jewel.
