Sampled 4/1/2009. Bottle #43 of 621. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Large sized white foamy head with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruit and sweet, slightly spicy hop with a touch of oak. A medium to full bodied India Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, lots of orange and citrus. The hops are citrusy and floral. More of a British IPA, more as it is more of a malty beer and less hoppy than most US versions. There is just a hint of oak, mostly in the finish. . The barrel aging shows up more in the soft carbonation than in the flavor. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
