Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz long neck bottle into a pint glass. There appears to be no freshness date. Appearance: The body very light and has a very pale straw color with very good clarity. Its head is bright white in color and made of a loose foam which light and quickly fades out. Smell: Light grain and clean wet straw notes are just noticeable in the modest light nose. Taste/Palate: As expected the body was light and thin with a very clean bready/cracker like pale malt. Hops added pale straw like flavor, balanced bitterness and a crisp finish. Underneath is just the very slightest hint of a white grape skin flavor note. Notes: Overall this is your basic pale thin hot weather lager. It was clean, drinkable and well, boring. Anyway I can now say that I have had a beer from the continent of Africa!

Nov. 2012: Shared 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 4.2%. Pale golden colour, low white head. Very moderate aroma, some sweetish and grainy, hints of hay. At least it is not offensive. Light bodied as expected. Clean pilsener flavour, too little of everything, but again: not offensive. Might work well in the Kenyan heat, not on a late autumn day in Norway.

Frigid cold (it was in my freezer for an hour) 33cl bottle pours with a clear gold body that supports a thin white head. The aroma offers up apple and pear fruity esters as well as a touch of graininess. The taste is similar with lots of sweet pear juice flowing into a mix of apples and mildly grainy malts. Not too bad really and the wife was digging it too.

I picked this beer up from Wine Gourmet in Roanoke, VA at the request of my bro-in-law. He said it wasn't a bad lager and he's right. It's refreshing and it hit the spot. Crisp and clean. Not a bad beer at all.

Pours a light golden color. Smell is mild, some grains. Taste is malts and grains, slightly bitter at the finish. Overall this is an easy drinking lager.

very pale yellow color, with a decent head that stayed around for a bit. Over all a bit of a boring typical pale lager taste, but like most pale lagers good on a hot sunny day, which i imagine they have quite a few in Kenya.

Yeah, what can you say about this typical grassy not too flavorful light lager? At least it's not a bud light I guess and now I can cross Kenya off the list...

I did not like this. Nothing but water and corn here. Under-carbonated too, which weighs down the mouthfeel and allows the off-balanced flavor to show. Wanted to try another brew from Africa, and for 1/2 figure I'd try since I wouldn't even attempt the $3.50 asking price for a pale lager. Was hoping I would strike something decent for under $2, but wouldn't even pay 50 cents for this. Can get an entire 6-pack of Genese Cream Ale which is similar (Kolsch) for $4, and probably even better.

decent for a pale lager...refreshing when cold and non-offensive as it warms, but when non-offensive is used, you know you're not talking about a good beer, but a passable beer. mostly lightly sweet malt in the aroma and taste with a hint of hop bite on the swallow. easy drinking. i'm running a time trial today and had this last night...hoping since it's from Kenya it makes me faster!!!

WEll, first off, I paid too much. Imports are high in Germany. But i was determined to drink one anyway. Trap is right. I think it would be fine very cold and sitting in E Africa. it was so pale with a decent head and light tingle . Not horrible, but not comparable to everything i have here. I will gulp it happily if ever I get the chance to be THERE. Im well informed! i listen to Toto. I can handle it! :)

When you are sitting in E. Africa, this is the beer to drink, its good when ice cold and does the trick. I don't think it has formaldahyde like some beer allegedly has in Africa. But when you need a beer you may try anything.
