An ultra-premium all-malt Strong Ale at 6% alc./vol. Attractive copper colour with a complex aroma that is assertive and alive with balanced sweet malt nuances and fruity/floral ale and hop aromatics. A rich, slightly sweet caramel malt flavour is enhanced by the taste of fresh hops and classic ale fruitiness. Hop bitterness is moderate to full, but well balanced by the malt elements. Perfect food pairings include but are not limited to onion soups, beef and pork ribs, lamb dishes, hearty stews, bruschetta, carrot cake, and cheddar and pecorino cheeses.

The alcohol was noticeable in this beer. A strong ale that is similar to a strong lager. It pours a clear copper with a generous white head. The aroma is sweet malt and alcohol. The flavour is also sweet malt and alcohol.

Re-review: Decided to try again after all these years now that I was in a position to try properly. The aroma, like most Magnotta brews, is the best thing about this, giving off a honey-like bouquet. Other than that., it's kind of watery and bland, like their lager. Unlike the like the Lager, it's better sampled out of a glass than straight out of the bottle. Still, I'll take the Cream Ale or the Wheat over this.

Bottled. Fills a pilsner glass with a copper-amber clear lager with a frothy 1 finger off white cap that has fair retenetion and laces moderately. Moderate carbonation. Nose is interesting; toasty sweet maltiness and a fragrant bouquet of a variety of hops. Sturdy mouth feel...full of wonderful bready malts... then the hops start a light medicinal bittering that builds in the finish making it slightly dry....nice malty-bready after taste....I like this beer, the taste profile is very close to Creemore lager ...a very good premium Canadian lager.

A copper-red colour with a beige bubbly head. I don't know if it's a bad batch, but I see hardly any carbonation. It has a sweet smell going on the bitter side. I know it is blasphemy, but this beer is actually much better drank from the bottle.
