Pours a slightly hazy honey golden with a decent pale buff head. Aroma is not strong, but hoppy enough to get your attention. Flavor is boldly hoppy, more woody than resiny, somewhat bitter, with citrus and malty hints. Smooth, firm texture is fairly lively. A respectable IPA from R.I.

This beer is not a favourite of mine by any stretch of the imagination. It loses points on colour (very pale), aroma (where's the hops?) and flavour (weakly malty and no bitter finish). After the aboimination known as their Russian Imperial Stout, it shouldn't have surprised me that this would be bad

New England Sample #3: Staying with my sister-in-law who's been living here for 10 years (first visit)...so figure I'd try something from her hometown. Funny how her husband said that he usually finds brewhouse beers to be just eh, and I tend to agree. This is a good attempt of an IPA, just lacking a bit on flavor. Balance is just ok, malt and hops slightly on the weaker side, but still drinkable and an overall decent brew. Just so many more better ones out there. Appearance is cloudy and medium orange. This might be a closer example af an older IPA before all these microbrewgeeks started going buck with the hoppier/maltier variations? Also pretty kewl that an out-of-towner from Florida gets to review this first :)
