I love Tree brewing easily my favorite Canadian brewery but what the hell did they do for this new beer “Rebel lager” lamest name ever with a crap ass two tone grey and red label complete with the lamest description of the beer and the type of person who should drink it on the back what the hell where they thinking, oh I think I know what they where thinking they tried to market a craft beer to white trash that’s what they’re thinking, retards. But now to crack this mofo open and give it a review. Body looks crystal clear copper sitting in my glass with a minimal cap that reduces to only a few bubbles in a moment, very standard looking but some how looks better the average. The aroma has a very noticeable hop presence, toffee like malts and just a tinge of metal, hey for a lager this is not to bad. Taste is malty and starts off a touch bitter then turns sweet after about two seconds in your mouth, very lightly hoped but they are noticeable giving a slight citrus metallic taste, however the malts come through way stronger then and of the hops. Clean and refreshing beer and I can see the average swill drinker really digging this brew and that is what I think that is what Tree is going for but the name and marketing for the beer is an embarrassment to the good people of Tree brewing they got to change this.

First thing, I'm not sold on this beer and I don't think it's all that appealing, but, with that siad, this is a pretty good beer....probally doesn't help that I drank 3 Fish Tales 10 Squared either. Average abmer colour, offwhite decent head with some spotty lacing, ok retension thoughout and persistant effervecence gets extra marks. Aroma is plentyful with some fruity sweetness blending in with the malts and some dry wheatness. Taste is just above average with ok malts (good ammount), a hint of citrus...maybe, a bit dusty, but it does have some european quality to it. Mouthfeel is good with a very nice carbonation feel. Light to medium bodied with a faint bitterness and a short-lived malt finish. I think this is possibly a sub-par beer for Tree, but, I did manage to drink most of it in about 2 minutes, so how dissapointed should I really be? They gotta do something about the packaging though - it's horrible.
