Grand Cru is a very mysterious style brewed primarily in Belgium and a few areas of France. Some Grand Cru is sour, some fruity, some weak, and some strong. Our version is brewed with a special malt from France, authentic Trappist yeast, and traditional sugars and spices. After an extended maturation period, tremendous flavors prevail from this light orange colored ale. Look for sweet candy-like flavors that may conceal spiced orange, plum, pear and toffee with a distinctive white wine-like finish. This Grand Cru was just awarded the silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival (2004) in Denver.

July 2010 - On tap at brewpub (sample). Clear and light colored for the style, amber orange color. Sweet and boozy with a lot of fruity esters but also with a biscuity presence, which was odd for the style. Similar to AmeriBelg...also very yeasty.
