Overall IIPA is - as its name indicates - an Imperial India Pale Ale that has been created through close cooperation between the two beers and our good friends from Mikkeller. The starting point was to make a tribute to the American beer culture in which the beer should taste of something and have character, unlike the urine stained pseudoøl we often drink in Denmark! At first sip, time stands still briefly before your taste buds will be bombarded with a hop experience dimensions, giving hints of pine, lemon and grapefruit and are only being reined in by the alcohol sweetness. You discover suddenly Bib IIPA is everywhere in your mouth and forget for a while tax debt, work, and the dishes and let their shoulders drop a couple of centimeters. You dream away for a moment before you realize that the glass was empty and you'll have to have another one. Of the slightly more brews technical things can be said that it has been tørhumlet with not less than 20kg per hop. 1000 liters, so we're talking basically about a hoppy punch of dimensions! Ingredienser: Vand, Malt, Havre, Humle(Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial) og gær. Ingredients: Water, Malt, Oats, Hops (Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial) and yeast. Alc: 10,5% Indhold: 330 ml Alc: 10.5% Contents: 330 ml Brygget på De Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium. Brewed at The Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium.

What is that heavenly sent wafting from the bottle, its yummers is what it is. Glowing cloudy tan body with almost no cap floating on top, it sure look perrty. This aroma is what I live for...heavy heavy peach, lots of tropical fruit, hints of caramel malt. I must drink now!!! Sweet peachy front with big bitter finish. Caramel, pineapple, peach, leather. Wholly crap the drool I’m producing is retarded. I think I might be overselling this beer. I keep hitting vanilla........ seems odd. Tobacco and ash, all is good with life. Why is this beer so pricy, I’d buy so much more but the price per bottle stops me.

It pours a hazy and thick burnt-orange and amber with a thick and foamy white head and spotty lacing. A fruity aroma of caramel malts, hops, orange and grapefruit juice, peach and apricot, sweet breads, and mild spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth and fairly rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, orange and light grapefruit juice, breads and biscuit, peach and apricot, and the zing of the alcohol and mild spiciness. It is very smooth and flavorful for being so heavy.

Rich aroma is strongly hoppy with a firm citrus undertone that is mainly orange with a note of grapefruit. It pours a hazy dark honey-amber with a fairly thick off-white head. Strong flavor is, no surprise, mainly hoppy yet minimally bitter and has a firm note of sweet citrus plus a sour touch - very tasty. Rough texture is quite fizzy and leaves a hoppy, citrus tingle behind. A must if you like good IPAs!

I had this beer at Mikkeller Bar on January 17, 2011. The kind bar tender spilt this beer three ways between herself, her boyfriend, and me. I am a lucky guy - this beer was phenomenal. Not only is this beer a citrus hop bomb, but it is creamy and easy going. You'd never know this beer was 10.0% abv unless and until it was too late. Try it once it reaches the US - support an upstart brewer - you'll be glad you did! Thanks Mikkeller Bar!
