We brewed this brown ale with an ounce of wild rice per pint, whose nutty, earthy, smoky flavor compliments a robust malty base. Full-bodied and smooth; rich and satisfying. "Zizania" (pronounced "zee-zah-nee-ah") is the Latin name for the wild rice genus of plants.

A Kitchy marketing ploy at best. It looks good and smells of roast and smoke, seemingly a great set up. Then the weak body hits your mouth with a terrible safety-pop sweetness and lingering wild rice aftertaste. Just not balanced and not good.

Had this once again for thanksgiving thanks to father-in-law. Pours a dark muddy brown. Nice finger sized beige head. Aroma is nutty, roasted, caramel, some soft hops. Taste is rich and full, mildly bitter with plenty of character. dark chocolate, hops and earth on the palate.
