Pours clear orange amber with a fairly thick and frothy beige head that pillows a little. Aroma delivers resiny hops, sweet and slightly tart orange plus a touch of grapefruit. Flavor yields piney hops that are fairly but not fiercely bitter, sweet orange, fresh malt, a hint of grapefruit - and an alcohol bite. Texture presents firm, smooth body and peppy fizz. Will have you howling.

Bottled on 2/29/2016. Poured into a snifter. Mildly cloudy orange amber color with a foamy off white head. Long lasting clinging lacing. Aromas of tangerine, grapefruit, lychee, pine sap, fresh cut flowers and sweet malt. Citrus dominates the taste with some apricot and piney notes on the end. Bitter, long lasting finish, drying my tongue, inviting me to have another sip. Another winner from Three Floyds. Recommended.

Man can 3F work the hop cone! This, like every other pale or IPA they make, is an excellent offering. Huge citrus bomb, just electrifying on the tongue, really well done and worth every penny.

Citrus and floral hops up front, thought the amount Of malt calls into question the age. Didn't taste super fresh but was still pretty damn good. Complex fruitiness too, not just grapefruit or orange. A little malt heavy, great body. Thanks Greg for the trade - killed the Alpha King too , one o the best pales for sure.

poured a cloudy orangish amber with a nice white head that turns into nice lacing. The aroma was hops, citrus and malt. Nice hop taste but wasn't balanced enough for me to bitter especially in the after taste.

Shared bottle @Bearden Ber Market's KnoxBeerCrew pirate tasting event: slightly cloudy yellow golden pour with ample white head and lacing. Big citrus and floral hopped aroma, offset by a small dose of malt sweetness, but most hops bomb - peaches, oranges, pineapple, honeysuckle. Taste is also very hop-forward - big citrus and some tropical fruits, and floral, with requisite malt sweet to slightly offset, leaving a long big bitter linger. Big and beautiful.

Sampled both at the pub bar and multiple times during Dark Lord Day weekend in 2011. A super dry and hopped up mammal. Citrus and evergreen with only a hint of pale malt. Very nice, but give me Dreadnaught 9 times out of 10.

Wow! What a great beer. I'm so glad I only had one of these before the Railroad Earth show. Slightly clouded reddish orange colour. Aroma is fresh of wet hops, grass, dank and citrus orange notes. Taste is astringent, firm and well hopped. No shortage of hop bitterness, but balanced in every sense. Citrusy, tropical and dank.
