Snicklefritz is a citrusy, spiced, oaked Golden Strong Ale originally developed and homebrewed by Kyle Manns. It is spiced with cardomom, ginger, juniper berries and coriander, along with fresh lemon, orange, grapefruit and tangerine zests. After fermentation, the already complex concoction was aged on oak cubes to add one more layer of flavor. We’ve production brewed it at The Bruery. Original batch was 9.2% ABV. The newest release (bottled as a Provisions Series beer) is 10% ABV.

Sampled on 3/16/2012. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a slightly cloudy orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Medium to large sized beige/off white head with long lasting lacing. The aroma is fruity and sweet, citrusy and juniper. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. Lots of flavors in this beer. Yeasty, sweet, oak, citrusy zest gives way to a touch of cardamom at the finish. A very complex beer, but the flavors are very enjoyable. A nice mix and match of sweet, tart and bitter. Extremely well balanced, so no one flavor profile is dominate. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

bottle provided by Tom .. . pours light brown, good foam

    spice and sugar, muddled feel

weak and confusing .. very tame for a provisions release and something i never want to see again .. .
