Dark brown, hazy and no head. There’s a bit of dark malt, chocolate, a touch of coffee in the aroma. The aroma doesn’t smell off, so the tart finish is a bit of a shock. Kind of comes across like a passable attempt at a Oud Bruin or Flemish Brown, but I don’t think it was intentional. I plan on stopping back in a few months and try this again and see if it’s a consistent problem or a one-time deal. Between the wheats, the Red and this, the promise of that drinkable Lite just fell apart. How you can do a spot on light lager and flop with the more flavorful styles is beyond me. It’s not like you can hide anything in a light lager.
