For our second beer we wanted to do something completely different than Tallgrass Ale, and still stay true to our roots of being an independent craft brewery from Kansas. Tallgrass Wheat is different from what most would expect in a Midwestern wheat. Tallgrass Wheat is brewed in the Belgian Wit style, with our unique blend of cracked coriander, Curaçao orange peel and natural spice. This blend, our Belgian brewer’s yeast, and a generous helping of oats creates a complex, smooth and highly satisfying wheat beer that is best enjoyed on hot, Midwestern summer afternoons. Tallgrass Wheat is brewed to have a drinkability, complexity and unique character that craft beer drinkers appreciate. The scent of peppery coriander, orange citrus, and fresh-baked bread permeates the brewery whenever this wheat beer is being brewed!

This beer surprised me a little bit, the 6 pack packaging doesn't mention Belgian style, which I don't usually care for much. The first bottle was quite good, but the second one, a few days later, was "chemical" tasting to me.

Bottle from theisti. Pour was pale white-golden color, nice white colored head, decent retention, good lacing (in a glass that doesn’t normally allow good lacing). The aroma was spicey coriander, some grassy wheat notes. The flavor followed the aroma, lemon grass, coriander spicing, light orangey notes, although this was somewhat Am-Wheaty tasting with coriander / orange notes on it. Mouthfeel was quite light. A nice LIGHT wit for a summer day. Slight lingering sweetness the only drawback. Thanks, Tim!
