Session Raspberry & Lemon Verbena Saison was developed by brewmaster Sam Corbeil – co-founder of Sawdust City Brewing, and brother of Session co-organizer Jed Corbeil – in conjunction with the owners and staff from The Only Cafe, C’est What?, BarHop, BarVolo, The Auld Spot, WVRST and Bryden’s. The group aimed to come up with a beer that would be ideal for summer, and the resulting 6.5% ale is described by Sam Corbeil as being “very dry with a hint of lemon and just enough tart, refreshing raspberry to keep you coming back for more.” Note: Brewed at Sawdust Brewing Company and originally marketed as Local 7 Session Raspberry and Lemon Verbena Saison

The beer poured a hazed gold colour with a foamy white head that l;aces quite well. The aroma was sweet fruit, yeast, spices and funk. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with above average carbonation, almost champagne like. The flavour was yeast, funk, with a slight fruity hint, although the fruit notes weren't very raspberry-like. A decent saison.
