The idea arose at Christiania, where a group from the beer club Sirius and the brewmaster from Svaneke made homebrew. In lack of disinfectant gin was used, which spread its aroma if juniper berries. This gave the asembled group a clear vision: To brew a juniper beer. English Ale yeast, Golding hops and Vienna malt are but a few of the secrets.

An unclear red beer with a thick light orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of juniper, but also other berries, but also some straw and farmhouse notes. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of at first farmhouse and straw, but very soon an extremely strong note of juniper comes along which gives the beer a spicyness, that lasts to the end and makes the end quite dry, the end is also quite bitter. The body is thin.
