The 2nd creation in the 20th Anniversary Signature Series is a salute to the loyal customers who have supported Sudwerk over the past two decades. While conducting "field research" at a Brewhaus in Bavaria, our wise Brewmaster, Jay Prahl, decided to craft this rare style of Pilsner. Our Brewmaster began with one of our most celebrated, award winning brews - the Pilsner - and "imperialized" it. He increased the hops and malts to bring you a bolder, stronger, hoppier Pilsner that packs a subtle punch. Brewed using royal Hallertau Perle Hops and Pilsner Malt, the Imperial Pils is a harmonious mix of crispy malt and fresh hop flavors. This gilded elixir has a rich golden color, a fluffy body and a pillowy head - creating a perfect bed of grainy goodness. From tailgate parties to Aristocratic soirees, this brew is great for any occasion. Surrender your sense to the Imperial Pils...sip, savor, and enjoy!

lots of cereal malts and grassy hops in the nose and flavor. a pretty nice beer, but i'm not quite sold on a Sudwerk beer at a premum price. they do nothing poorly, but nothing great either.

Sampled on 6/11/2010. This Imperial Pilsner pours a light orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal, grain, spicy and sweet. A medium bodied Imperial Pilsner. The malts are grainy, grassy and semi sweet. The hops are spicy and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Nice Imperial Pils, lots of flavor. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
