Albert. Able. Gordo. Miss Baker. Bonny. Goliath. Between 1948 and 1961 these primate pioneers and others bravely went where no man had ever gone before, paving the way for manned U.S. spaceflight. This hoppy little monkey of a beer is a tribute to those Simian heroes of yesteryear. It has a citrusy, floral hop aroma, a strong malt body and a crisp finish.

Growler. Pours a clear, dark amber with a fairly thick pale buff head. Hoppy aroma is mostly woody, with malty and resiny undertones. Woody hops dominate the flavor, more resin/evergreen coming through, while a malty tone provides backup and fruity and floral snips. Texture is firm and ragged, enhancing a nice finish. Don’t monkey around, because this will help you achieve liftoff!

Wish List item - finally in Tennessee: I'm a sucker for anything "monkey"... This has one of the coolest labels ever too. Amber color with a medium head, plenty of lacing. Pine, citrus and slightly floral aroma and initial palate, offset nicely with ample malt sweetness, nice bitter linger. Nice IPA, even better Monkey label. Hail to the Monkey.

Clean IPA with a medley of piney and fruity hops backed up with a sweet caramel malt content. Burnt copper colored body, fluffy off white head and thick lacing. Abundant aroma and crisp bitterness. Solid IPA.

Pours an orangeish color. Smell is of piney hops. Taste is piney hops up front, bitter, some malts at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

A fair and honest offering from yet another upstart Alabama brewery. Hoppy, but still a bit of balance. All of the floral and piney sensations expected from a good IPA. Clean finish.
