330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9%. Deep golden colour, large white head. Aroma of spicy Belgian ale yeast, white kandij sugar syrup and mild spices. Fizzy mouthfeel, Medium sweet flavour, distinct spicy notes, both from spicy yeast and spicy hops. Also notes of white kandij sugar. Bitter aftertaste.

The beer poured a slightly hazy dark golden brown with a half inch frothy white head which lasts throughout. The aroma is yeast, bready malt, honey, citrus, and light spice. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with well above average carbonation. The flavour is sweet honey, tart citrus, funky grains, and yeast. A very nice tripel. -

Taps semi-transparent apricot with a fairly thick cream-beige head. Aroma delivers tart apple and a little pear, raw malt, butterscotch, a hint of resiny hops. Flavor features tart pomme, woody, raw malt and subtle butterscotch tones. Scrumptious! Texture presents firm, smooth body, lively fizz, and a fruity, woody finish. Tripel your pleasure!

330ml bottle from Clover Crossing, by no means inexpensive but well worth it. Poured four fingers of rocky white head, nary a trace of lace. Clear body of dark gold. Aroma of yeast, fruit, and spice, along with a minor sourness. Tart, not sour, flavour, as well as a fruitiness and an earthy quality. Mouthfeel more than acceptable. Bottom of the bottle had a bit of sediment, all good, though. Tiny sweet note to finish. 9% ABV well-hidden. What a nice beer!

Pours a murky dark gold with a thick white head. The aroma is of pears, spice and malt. The mouthfeel has a slight sting almost bitter from the 9 abv. The taste is of wheat, malt fruit and spice.

Nice color, good foam. Has some sweet smell but bitter taste, low on carbon has and lasting taste. Good bitter taste in mouth, long aftertaste slowly turning more sweet.

They didn't have this on tap at the brewery in Bruges but I did find it at a store not far away. Brought it home and shared it with Brother Lou on his recent visit to the midwest. Pours a cloudy golden colour, slight orange tint. Aroma is yeasty, spices and pear notes. Taste is very spritzy, yeast and spice again and a little hotness near the finish.

It pours a copper/golden with a thick white head and thick surrounding lacing. An aroma of caramel malts, hops, orange and citrus notes, pears, apples, light bitterness, and spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth and quite rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, orange and citrus, apple, pear, bitterness, banana, and spiciness. Excellent!

This pours a murky amber colored beer with a moderate sized, foamy textured, off white head rising above. It settles fairly quickly, leaving a thick ringlet. The nose of bready and grassy. Nice, so far, but nothing to say, WOW! The tasting is roasted, sweet malt, caramel and fruit. A tad on the sweet side. Not offensively so, just not a WOW factor. A moderate body with a big smooth, creaminess on the tongue, the high point of this assessment.

Man how I start to love de Halve Maan brewery. The Straffe Hendrik Triple pours as a yellow beer with this nice firm, large head. The head stays on during the drinking of this beer leaving lacing on the glass. The aroma has lemon, hops, and hints of spices like coriander and juniper. Taste has a lot of citrus, amazingly fresh for a 9% drink. Really dangerous beer because it goes down really easy. Great beer!
