Deep rich, cloudy brown color with a nice tight head and dense lacing. Big hoppy aroma and lightly fruity. Intensely hoppy flavor to start, requisite citrus with ripened fruit. Always a Stone fan.

Deep amber colored body with a thin off white cap that leaves some spotty lace. Aromas of sweet slightly toasted malts, lots of grapefruit, citrus, and pine. Flavor is predominantly pine sap and grapefruit rinds, some oak in there as well and some lightly toasted malts. None of the sweetness from the aroma crosses over. Overall another good brew from Stone..

22 oz bottle. Pours clear deep ruby amber with a medium creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is some sweet caramel malt with a ton of resiny dank hops with some onion/garlic notes and some alcohol.
The flavor is sweet nutty caramel malts with a big harsh resiny hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, not a great mix of sweet and monster hop with some off notes. -

Aroma is mainly fruity, mostly orange, and slightly sweet. There is also a hint of hops. It pours a clear, dark mahogany that is more brown than red and has a fairly thick pale tan head that leaves some good lacing. Flavor is quite hoppy with tones of malt and citrus and just a little bitterness - very satisfying! Texture is smooth and fizzy, leaving a nice sour citrus and hoppy finish.

Pours a nice mahogany red with a one finger fluffy head that stays for a bit. Decent amount of carbonation in this one and you can also see a lot of sediment floating around the bottom of the glass. Aroma is very hoppy with a strawberry hint to it. Taste seems very much oaked in a way, has a very earth feel to it. Very creamy and goes down very easy without that alcohol burn of other strong ales. The alcohol is very well hidden and is barely noticeable if at all. Very bitter beer and it stays in the mouth a bit after drying. An odd but very good beer.

22oz bottle - I have to admit that Stone knows how to make a great looking beer. While most of their stuff is, these days, no where as extreme as they want you to think they are...it's still good. Lots of orange, spicy hops in the aroma with some caramel. Oak, spicey hops, alcohol, in the flavor...lots of caramel malts...reminds me of an American Barleywine actually. This beer is kinda like going to a Kiss concert. They glory days are long gone, but if you like their product (which I do) then you'll enjoy it. If you're not already a fan, then this won't convert you.

Murky tea brown pour with thick drapings of thick lacing. Big hops aroma, earthy and fruity, peaches. Big hops flavor upfront, with lots of ripe fruits, slight citrus, long earthy hops bitter. Nice brew, great label.

Cloudy to mostly clear brown/amber, dark apple juice color. Small burnt orange highlights at the bottom. Off white head with nice size and retention. Combination of both large and small bubbles. Some pretty good lacing. The aroma was caramel malt with some prominent earthy tones. Wheat bread type aromas. Semi-sweet smelling, but the darker malt handcuffs the sweetness. No alcohol in the smell, but I did detect a woody tone. Maybe a slight bit of pine, but not much. Deep whiffs revealed a rubbing alcohol note. The taste brought out a toasty bread flavor with more of the earthy tones. An alcohol warmth seemed to linger for a moment. Minor amounts of bitterness on the tongue. The taste becomes more earthy and woody as it warms and the flavors become more tame and refined. The hop bitterness comes in more as it warms. Medium mouthfeel. Dry and smooth and mostly slick. Medium/light carbonation. Leaves plenty of flavor on the palaste and also a touch of warmth at the backend. Well, this is still a good beer by Stone, don't get me wrong, but they brew others that I find more enjoyable. I did enjoy this and would never turn it down if it was offered, but it's just not my preferable style I guess. With that being said, its easily drinkable and worth a try for sure. It has enough complexity to make for an excellent conversation piece. I did start to enjoy this more as I went along.

8.5% ABV: Top notch beer! I found the Arrogant Bastard more of a cross between a Belgian/Strong Ale and IPA, but this has mostly the IPA characteristics...or closer to a DIPA...but not quite. Found it very similar to Lags Lucky 13. Is it coincidence that this is Stone's 13th Anniversary brew, also with the name "Lucky" in it? A little stronger than the Ruination Ale, but along the lines of that in flavor. These are all some of my favorite beers, especially in the IPA hybrid category.

Yet another "Stone Affliction brought in to batter the taste buds" Loved every moment of the experience! Pours a nice maple syrup amber red. Clear non hazy appearance with nice filling body. Ample hops that make a bottle a meal in its self.
