3L bottle, and a 1.5L in the cellar( well, not anymore, traded for a bag of pencil shavings)Pours a murked brown, some sticky lacing .. . cereal, dead yeast, funky malt, and liquefied bark in the mouth .. i didn't really like this...Brace yourselves gentlemen. According to the gas chromatograph, the secret ingredient is… Love!? Who’s been screwing with this thing?

This is a dark brown beer reminiscent of many other fine Belgians. The head was light brown, huge, and dissipated in a rocky fashion. The aroma was roasted malt, yeast, and raisins. The flavour is very yeasty with some malt backup. No hops, but some dark fruit comes through as well (plums? raisins?)

I tried this beer on November 1, 2007 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto. The beer poured a dark reddish brown colour with a thick, fluffy, off-white head that lingers. The aroma was a compbination of malt, yeast, and subtle hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with mild carbonation. The flavour was yeasty with some malt in the background.

Sampled at Vineyards in Ottawa, Ontario. This dubbel pours a deep red colour with slight orange. The head is tanned with decent retention and nice foam lacing that stays. Flaky sediments are all over the brew. Aromas of dark fruits and quite nutty. Same for the flavours, nutty throughout with light notes of chocolat malt and a slight taste of smoke and oak wook in the aftertaste. Thin-bodied with some light tart on the tongue. A very well-balanced and light dubbel that is quite refreshing.

Very dark ruby colour, beigeish head. Aroma of malt and a bit of plum and caramel. Also notes of alcohol in the aroma. Plummy malty flavour. Sticky mouthfeel. Semibitter finish.

A dubbel with all flavours present and accounted for. Well fitted to its style, a decent aroma and mouthfeel. Somewhat gritty and at times canting, but on par! For the most part, really nothing more than abiding.

Bottle 500ml. Hazy dark brown with some floaty bits. Slim, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and stewed fruit. Nice flavour, burnt caramel, fruit, raisins, coffee and some alcohol. Medium body, moderate carbonation. I like it.

Great color, very smooth beer (probably because there is hardly any carbonation what so ever). Has some dark after tastes with honey flavors. "As flat as the Earth", will not get it again.

dark red-brown colour, fine creamy head, fruity (peach? mango?) and malty nose, full-bodied, the initial sweetness is quickly followed by a nice bitterness, long dry malty finish - very nice beer
