Hop on board and experience three "All American" hop varieties; Warrior, Tomahawk and Simcoe. which the brewers have worked into this Imperial India Pale Ale. The brewers focused in on the key attributes of each hop for the best possible interplay of aromatics and bitterness with the malt extraction. The result is a floral, citrus nose, bold bitterness and a hint of sweetness. Once again the Steam Team is on time and on track.

On draught at the Alchemy: Poured a semi hazey copper colour, decent sized white head. Nose is very pungent, floral sticky green notes. Caramel and other floral sweetness is noticeable. Taste is firm and hoppy, semi dry and bitter but balanced. Smooth caramel sweetness on the palate with fresh fruits lingering near the finish. Overall, a really dank beer.

Upon smelling this for the first time it reminded me of my grandmothers pineapple upside down cake, seriously. Aroma of canned pineapples and brown sugar were very pleasant. It poured a nice looking amber hued body with ample carbonation, a thin off white head that left very heavy lace on my glass. The most surprising aspect of this was the bitterness, hop bite was present but not as much as expected for an IIPA, in fact i didnt know it was an IIPA until looking at the bottle this morning to review it. Overall this is a pretty good brew, a little on the sweet side, but i look forward to buying more. My only complaint is that it is kind of weak for an IIPA, it would be a very solid IPA however.

I really liked the flavor on this. Amber color with some head. Nice big hoppy nose. Was a bit thick in a not so good way. Flavor was hops and some citrus and a bit of spice... Nice beer

Pour was dark orange with small head and ok lacing. The aroma was weak grapefruit. The flavor was sweet malt, some grapefruit hop, some vegetal notes and noticeable simcoe presence as well. Moderate level of hop bitterness. The body on this was really heavy. A bit too syrupy, but still decent.

22 oz bottle, dated best by 10/07. Pours a reddish golden orange amber with a thinnish creamy white head that quickly diminishes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.

The aroma is strong tangerine hops with sugary caramel malt in the background.

The flavor is sweet sugary caramel malt with tangerine and melon leading to a decent earthy grassy bitterness that lingers in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium with low carbonation.

Overall, a pretty nice DIPA. Not my favorite hop flavors. The bitterness and sweetness are both strong (especially sweetness - it becomes a little cloying) and don't balance well. But this is definitely the best Steamworks' brew I've had. I didn't realize my bottle was slightly old - I'd like to try a fresher sample.

Pours with a medium thick head.. smell is of rusted pine and green hop copper .. colour is of tan autumn leaves, is quite clear .. quite sweet for an IIPA .. filtered? .. glides down the throat very easily... abv is well hidden! .. some doubts but a good brew that is quite astonishingly drinkable...

Bottled@SBWF2007. Amber colour, not much head. Aroma is really strong fruity hops along with some grassyness. Flavour is toffee, caramel, bigtime hops and overall quite pleasant.
