500 ml capped bottle bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Staffelberger glass a clear ruby-brown coloured Dunkel with a generous two fingers beige foamy head that had a quite short retention and tons of micro bubbles. Mid-sized carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is roasted grainy malts, cocoa powder and caramel. The flavour is grainy toasted malts, some sweetness. The mouthfeel is prickly, quite watery and smooth. This light to medium bodied Dunkel has a dry toasted malts finish. A very nice tasting Dunkel from Upper Franconia.
