Bronze body with a massive cap at time of pour sharp yeast, lots of smooth spice and only some funk in the aroma, this farm house is smelling yummy. Taste is more of the same , reminds of a better quality La Fin. Is easy to drink yet the flavor is intense. Some much malty goodness with a big yeast taste, brew somehow actually comes across crisp but mellow. Good brew thanks Jeff. Ouch Frank Mier just got knocked the fawk out.

2009 Edition. Pours out in a slightly hazy pale amber colour with a rich fluffy white foam. Rich malty and fruity aroma of apricots and dried oranges with a mild understated yeastiness. Medium to full-bodied with firm malty notes of nectarines, dried oranges, cookies and mild yeast with subtle notes of grassy noble hops and herbs. Long balanced aftertaste of orange-peels, butter, herbs and grass. Elegant and quaffable.

2006 edition, with best before date written on back label, 02/01/08. Just like their 3 Monts, metal tab around cork that is hard to take off and crazy big head. A tad on the yellow side, very creamy with intense retention and superb thick lacing all around. The brew itself is golden-orange and carbonation is very active. Yeasty nose with spices, apples, alcohol and rusted water. Slight burn, but actually quite pleasant mouthfeel. Mild apples and spices again, not too strong and mixed in with other refreshing fruits. Once you can get close to the end of the bottle, you can finally shake it slowly and the "lie" clouds up the brew. Pretty good, but still prefer the Unibroue's on lees beers.

Pours with an orangish-gold body topped by a thick head with a good amount of lacing. It’s sweet, buttery and toffeeish with a slight grassy note. Medium bodied, smooth and slightly warming.

Bottled. Dark golden colour, mediumsized white foamy head. Weak fruity aroma. Fruity flavour with sweet alcohol. Good one.

Frothy white head with a clear golden body, this brew is quite tasty. The nose is fruity & musty, the flavors are of complex fruit. Great fruity flavor. This is a good beer to have w/ food.

Bottled in 2000 – drank in 2004 – The bottle opened with a big swish and poured a light brownish beer with a huge bubbly head with excellent retention. Aroma of alcohol with a mix of spice. Carbonation is perfect with lots of bubbles coming back on top of my glass. Taste is a mix between a strong Belgian ale with a mix of a good well aged port. The alcohol is mostly sensible in the aroma but undetectable form the taste. Overall, this is a beer that aged well and is true to the name “bière de garde”.

Deep orange in color. Well balanced beer. Hoppy and malty. Very rich in texture and flavor . High in alcohol. Very interesting.
