Not the best of the German Lagers, but still real good. Hops and bitterness is about right. Good bargain for an import lager. PS- ThaDuke- This is a family forum, no need to drop the F-bomb! And, I really don't care if you know what skunk piss and sea salt taste like together!

Poured from a green 12oz. imported bottle . gold-yellow color, strong skunky smell when bottle opened and poured. Big head of foam left quick with little lacing. Light crisp moutth feel but a watery. no aftertaste to speak of.

Pours a crystal clear light straw color with a 2 finger white head that goes down fairly quick. Huge bubbles of carbonation. I can smell the skunk right when I opened the bottle and after it goes away all you can smell is the typical lager. Taste is light and metallic. Malty and slightly sweet. Not much skunk to the taste. Watered down mess though.

This is a drinkable even though it's a little light in taste. It is just a little bitter but not bad to keep me from drinking a second one. I find to close in taste to most american lagers and best served ice cold.

pours a really pale light straw body with a white head which forms to a huge size and has good retention but falls to nothing leaving no lace in sight. The aroma is boring, with faint light fruit and sweets. The taste is of light fruit like white grape and apple, light caramel cracker malt sweets, bread and hops. The mouthfeel is bubbly but creamy light body. Slight bitterness in the finish.

The only good thing about this beer is the girl on the label. It literally tastes like bottled skunk juice. When I opened it, it took my breath away with an overwhelming skunky smell. The taste wasn't any different. It was like taking a 12 oz body shot out of a skunk's butthole. I will never buy this beer again. It could probably be used as a form of torture at Guantanamo for the terrorists.

Had this one out of the bottle, so can't comment much on the appearance, but the flavor was crisp and mild, A good hot weather refresher, but not something to sit down and contemplate. A big plus is that it was a 24 ounce bottle, so you get a little more volume for your money.

OK. So this is made from the same brewer as the Beck line. Is there really a big difference between them (seems like a lighter version maybe) ? We do not get this St. Pauli beer in Canada, so is it a marketing thing that only the States get ? Anyways, pours a light golden colour with a white foamy head that does leave much lacing, and is gone quickly. The famous skunk smell is present (from the green bottles) and I do not mind it. The typical pils smell is there, but pretty mild (malts and saaz hops) with a little touch of honey. Lightly-bodied with tiny bubble carbonation. Same taste as the aromas, mild pils things. Decent brew, but I would like to compare a Beck's side-by-side with this one. Maybe the next time I am in the States.

Very clear straw/gold color with a super white head that wasn't too impressive. Head retention was at a bare mininum. A tiny bit of lacing was present. Looked like a "macro" lager or pilsner. The nose was very grainy. The hops smelled kind of musty. Corn aromas were present also. Rice too. Just a wee bit skunky. The grain and corn stand out in the taste. Some bitterness is present. Enough to let you know that some type of hops are present somewhere. Not horrible. Light mouthfeel. Mostly watery. Crisp and smooth. Very little was left on the palate. This beer reminds me of the big American Lagers and Pilsners with more of a grainy nose and taste. Would pair well with a real hot day. Could be rather thirst quenching. Probably wouldn't seek this out, but I could see how this beer could be good for someone making the jump to craftbeer.

This is the typical yellow skunky beer...but not quite like bud, etc. Smoother since it's a "pilsner". Besides that, the taste isn't all that bad. I'd say that it's drinkable, but barely. Don't know why anyone would buy this though, with so many alternatives out there for the same price.

another slightly better than average yellow beer. not really skunky, so kudos for that, but not something i'll buy again either. there are better pilseners out there when the mood hits.
