I remember when this beer was first inroduced. The expectations was high and it had been promoted as the Best beer ever produced by the Swedish brewery Spendrups. A friend who worked at Spendrup brought it home and I still remember the first taste. Poured in a long glas the its beutifull. The flavour is strong and with a taste of bread. It is a bit bitter but still mild. I love this beer.

Clear yellow color with white foam head lacing to glass. Typical barley aroma, similar taste yet bitter enough. Quite long bitter aftertaste. Not bad at all, yet nothing too special either. (Göthenborg 201208)

330 ml stylish bottle (new design), courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7% (ABV possibly adapted to Norwegian regulations). Pale yellow colour, big white head. Grainy aroma, also some sweetish vegetable notes. Moderate carbonation in the glass, soft mouthfeel. Acceptable flavour of pilsener malts and moderate hops (though I might still have been under the influence of the long hoppy aftertaste of my previous beer, BrewDog 77 Lager). Anyway, Old Gold Premium Pils has no noticeable off-flavours, and is far from undrinkable. Don’t expect anything exciting, though.

A clear lively golden beer with a medium white foam collar on top. Has a hoppy aroma, a bit sweet like honey. Feels light at all points. Has a watery bittersweet flavour with occidant notes and a bitter aftertaste with hints of honey sweetness.

Was surprised that this was one of Protz's "300 to try before you die" as although it is a superior lager, i felt that it lacked depth and hop bite that characterise true pilsners. Still not a bad quaffing beer

Ok this is a review from memory. I was flying back to the US from St.Petersburg and we had a layover in Helsinki airport. This beer was delightful. It is possible that my shock, upon ordering a beer in an ariport and being given a berverage in a high quality glass mug and then being allowed to wander all over the smallish airport mug in hand, may have colored by enjoyment of this brew. A minimal nose, a lovely golden color and decent head, well balanced taste with a lot of malted sweetness and a fairly clean finish. A fantatic airport brew!

Bottled. Pale yellow colour with mediumsized white bubbly head. Strong hoppy aroma with some honeyish hints. Hoppy and malty flavour with honeyish and caramelly hints. Rich carbonation. Bitter aftertaste.

clear golden colour, little unregular head, robust herbal aroma, sweet and sparkling with a long dry and slightly bitter finish - a deeply average beer

This golden coloured beer has fresh bitterish hops nose and nice bitter teste with a bit of sourish tones. The crisp hops finish is long lasting and pleasant. This beer has its own character and easily recognised even with eyes closed.
