Three thousand feet above sea level in the misty mountains of Jamaica, some of the worlds finest Arabica beans are hand picked on their way to becoming Blue Mountain Coffee. Halfway around the world, plump spring barley grows to maturity in the loamy soil of North America while aromatic hops are cutivated to exacting standards. Here in our kettles, these three special ingredients are blended to create a heady mixture of sweet sugar, dark roast, and complex flavor. Please enjoy this brew in moderation.

Poured a deep brown almost like motor oil with next to no head. Aroma was of dark chocolate , coffee and hints of dark fruit. Mouth feel is thick and sticky. Taste was big dark chocolate , roasty malt and coffee with hints of maybe plums. ABV hidden pretty well. This beer is extremely rich and the 22 oz bomber is a bit much for 1 person.

Shared bottle. Near black pour with a tight and tall tan head, tons of lacing. Black coffee upfront in the aroma, then almost immediately rich dark chocolate follows, then toasted malts, leather, very light smokiness, more coffee, earthy hoppiness. Smooth for such a huge beer, tasty, silky black coffee with dark chocolates flavor, Big, inviting, warming. Great stout.

bittersweet coffee greets the nose first thing. i really liked this beer, but even so found the chocolate/coffee balance of the Mokah to be the X factor making me love that one more. this was ever so slightly thinner and more carbonated that OAT, but smelled amazing and was a treat just the same. ST knows how to make a stout!

When I pour a beer with such blackness, my palate waters with anticipation. The foamy textured tan head rises nicely above. It has some hang time but the lacing is nothing more than a thin soapy ringlet. The nose is mostly dark chocolate with lighter malt notes. A full bodied, richly creamy body. Well carbnated. And in the tasting is the chocolate, the coffee and roasted malt, sweet and bitter in harmony to make this a top notched stout.

Pours a deep, warm, opaque sable with a decent pale tan head that starts thick but is not all that persistent. Inviting aroma is like a fine mocha, a bit powdery with just a whisper of sweetness. Flavor is strongly of chocolate and coffee, a little sweet and just a bit bitter, with a bit of an alcohol bite and a hint of molasses. Texture is fairly smooth, rather thick and a little tingly.

Dark brown body with a small skiff floating on top, I wish it where darker. Mild soya sauce in the nose with some jerky (teriyaki/smoke) and tons of coffee. Thick and chewy sweet flavour with a burnt chocolate after taste that lingers a long while. Man there is so much coffee in this I could probably drink it in the morning at work and no one would know it was a beer. This so very powerful tasting with massive bitter heavy malts but is still sweet. My stomach is so warm. Graham crackers??? So very good.

This beer was the recent loser in a chocolate stout taste test I held recently with a few friends. While the beer had some great blackness to it. The aroma and the flavour seemed to be polluted with some off-aromas and flavours.

Bottle, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Dark brown colour, nearly black, low head. Nice aroma of coffee and roasted malts. Coffee in the flavour too, also notes of alcohol and oak, there is also a slight acidity.
