Here’s the label description for Farmer’s Tan: “Neolithic humans evolved from nomadic hunters into a more settled agricultural society, changing life forever. The ‘founder’ crops they raised included wheat and barley. It is little surprise that the first examples of brewing appeared during this age. Brewers owe much to the epoch. Similarly, we thank our farmer friends of today for cultivating the ingredients the are responsible for the beers we now enjoy. Their laborious days spent ourdoors under the hot sun earn them respect, as well as a mark of distinction: the farmer’s tan. Yes, the inevitable red and white hallmark of hard work.” Beer Stats: ABV: 9% 19 deg. Plato 2-row Pale Malt European Pilsner Malt White Wheat Kettle hops: Magnum, Mt. Hood Dry hops: Santiam, Sterling, Mt. Hood

Bottled@fonefan. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some hops and quitte grassy. Flavour is fruity and floral hops along with rather bready and caramelly malts. Some slight alcohol in there as well.

Pours a clear solar yellow with a typical white head - average, but not off-putting. Aroma is strong and malty with a yeasty overtone. Edgy flavor has a malty core with a strong alcohol bite and fruity and yeasty tones plus a bit of a metallic zing. Body is average, and texture is edgy and a little fizzy. OK, I’m not a big fan of lagers, but this is acceptable.

650 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.0%. 19 degrees Plato. Malts are 2-row pale malt, European pilsner malt and white wheat. Kettle hops are Magnum and Mount Hood, dry hops are Santium, Sterling and Mount Hood. Golden colour, big white head. Strong and delightful aroma of American hops, also notes of orange marmalade. The flavour is very hoppy but not extreme, with hints of pine needles, on a background of sweet malts with hints of orange marmalade and some caramel. Alcohol is noticeable, but not dominant. A good lager, but I can’t help thinking that it would taste even better if it were an ale ...

Pretty awesome brew! HAd it on tap at the Alchemy and was thoroughly impressed. A bright golden super heady, mildly malty summertime session brew. Really, not muy fuerte, but just enough. Pretty refreshing and crisp all around.

A brightly clear golden colored beer. Big frothy textured white head rises above. Some hang time. Leaving an impressive lacing of light film and thick cap/ringlet. Some sulfur in the nose with light citric and pine hops. A nice dance of sweet caramel malt and citric hops are in the flavoring. Light to medium bodied. Some smoothness . All in all a fairly good beer.
