Traditional Belgian brewers rely on local yeast and bacteria for the flavors that make their beers so unique. Taking our cue from them, we harvested yeast from an Azalea bush on our brewery property and used it to brew our Wild Azalea series. At 6.5%, the Wild Azalea Saison is crisp, dry, fruity, and just a bit funky. With pronounced clove and orange notes, it pairs well with everything from barbecue and boiled peanuts to blue cheese and bacon.

Pours clear, bubbly solar yellow with a nice ivory head. Aroma features sharp fruity and fresh malt notes, the former being largely pear and mango. Flavor is seriously fruity, pear and mango and apple and - is that papaya? Malt and a bit of hops make their presence known. Mouthfeel features average body but good fizz. Stalk the wild azalea!
