Based on a conversation with brewmaster Bo Belanger, this is a limited edition seasonal built in stages upon his Rhodes Scholar stout. Around mid-winter he adds some coffee and peppermint notes to the Rhodes, pumps that product til it's almost gone, and then, somewhat later in the year, puts the remaining stock into bourbon barrels for an aged infusion, timing the process to have it available in limited quantities, at select regional pubs, in time for the first days of spring.

Wow! That was my initial reaction- incredibly tastey. Makes you want to lick the entire glass inside and out after you are finished. Poured a very dark, thick black colour with a reddish tint. Head was finger sized, brown and sticky. Creamy mouthfeel is an understatement. Minty, dark chocolate and coffee notes. Faint but noticeable oak and whiskey spirit underlining the taste of this beer. Awesome!
