Citrus aroma prevails. Mounds of fresh hops and caramel malts explode to mask the potent 10% ABV of the Decadent. Originally produced to celebrate our tenth year in business, this Imperial IPA hides nothing of our tendency toward self-indulgent behavior.

Taps clear amber with a fair ivory head. Aroma presents resiny hops and a bit of citrus, not strong but promising. Flavor offers strongly resiny and rather bitter hops, tropical and citrus tones, a hint of malt. Texture provides peppy fizz and smooth, fairly firm body. Decadent.

Modus Hoperandi is a very good IPA, so hopes were high for this one, and it just didn't really live up. Almost barleywine like in body and texture. A nice enough flavor and aroma, but maltier and less floral and fruity than I prefer in any ipa, double or otherwise. May be better super fresh. Dunno. Not bad, but well below average for a favorite style.

Bottled@OMH tasting. Reddish amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops along with caramel and some slight alcohol. Flavour is being much the same. A rather balanced and nice IIPA for once.

Wow! This has got to be one of the sweetest beverages in the world you could probably feed humming birds with it. That's not a good thing for beer though, in fact the sweetness covered the few hops so completly That I'm not sure it Should be considered a dipa, hate to say it this but it was a drainpour for me.

specs sold me an old bottle so i'll go off my tap rating at the Flying Saucer. pours out a gold tan, quality lacing .. . easy drinker for 10% .. . some medicine and resin on the tongue .. . just a touch hot but enjoyable ..

Poured from a bottle nice white head and to a copper in color. Aroma is a lot of malt and hops. The flavor is good but it's nothing that's going to blow you off your bar stool for an IIPA. It's what is expected. It is a very well balanced brew though between the hops and malts. The price was also right for this beer. I paid $5.79 for a 22oz, which I thought was decent. Very good beer...just not OMG good, as my daughter might say.

It pours a reddish-copper with thin tan head and some lace. Fragrant aroma of hops, light pine, grapefruit, cherry maybe, and mild spices. The mouthfeel is almost velvety smooth, rich, and full-bodied. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, grapefruit, cherry, and a subtle spice/pepper mix. It could use a smidgen more on the hops, but this is outstanding.

Pour is copper with a fluffy white head. Alcohol is the most dominant aroma but also some sweet fruit and earthiness; very little in the way of hops. Taste is mostly boozy with just a little hop bitterness. Overall, a disappointing DIPA since the beer really doesn't offer much except for a high alcohol kick.

Pours a nice amber color with a fluffy white head that clings to the last glass for a long time. Smells of subdued fruit, hops and malt. The taste is hops and malt, with a bitter finish. Too malty for my taste. It just doesn't do it for me. Not a very complex IIPA. It's not bad, but nothing stands out. There are a lot of IIPA's out there well worth what I paid for this.

The East Coast and West Coast bias on this site makes me chuckle. Nice Citrus on the nose. Can taste the ABV for sure bittering finish. It is slightly above average beer. Re-rate May 5th this beer is getting better!!!!!
