Double DEBOCKel is brewed in the style of the traditional German doppelbock but with our original Sierra Nevada spin. At the start, our Double DeBOCKel is roasty and malty; it has a rich caramel character, a light bready flavor and mild, pleasant sweetness. It has silky-smoothness resulting from along aging period at near freezing temperatures, and hides its hearty strength with modesty. Double De BOCKel is a boisterous beer that finishes clean; and in true Sierra Nevada fashion the use of a healthy dose of hops leaves the beer surprisingly dry, with nothing but a full-body warmth and a faint malty memory left behind

What a strange, delightful, pleasant suprise to find this craft brew down at the Malt House. Excellent price too, $1 off for happy hour puts it at $4 pints! That's cheaper than a budlight at a busy time in a bar scene somewhere I would never want to find my self in. Hoo-doggy, how great life is. I will rate this beer higher now for it has refreshed not only my taste buds, but my positive outlook on the beauty of life in this wonderful land of a vortex we call planet Earth. Thank the Lord, life is good.

The aroma is very sweet and very malty with alcoholic overtones coming through with maybe some brown sugar or dark figs. The appearance is darker than expected and is a rich and red amber in color with a surprisingly nice head on top considering the alcohol and diminshes to a light and bubbly lacing that adheres to the glass. The mouthfeel is very complex and very sweet with nice balance with an oily and very slippery palate that is interesting. The flavor is almost chewy with figs, sweet malt, caramel, brown sugar, and earthy overtones coming through with an aftertaste that is extremely sweet and malty and a finish that offers alcoholic burning sensations that is warming. Overall, this is a very interesting brew and is barleywine-esque-like and very sweet which I am sure would mellow with more aging. Very good brew here but very syrupy, sticky, and alcoholic and almost too sweet for my tastes."

So this is a blonde dopplebock. Pours a bright semi cloudy golden colour with a hint of orange near the bottom. Head is large and flowing, creamy and sort of resinous. Aroma is bready, soft hops, caramel malts and toast. Taste is full and slightly hoppy. Big bright fruits ecspecially pear and peach. Overall nice beer, packs a punch thast for sure.
