Named after the hop flower Humulus Lupulus, this India Pale Ale style beer has enormous amounts of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. With a very complex malt bill, flavors seem to meld with the hops to balance this ale and provide a ridiculous urge to sample more.

12 oz capped bottle. Poured an unfiltered hazy copper-brown coloured IPA with a generous two fingers beige pillowy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Great lacing. The aroma is heavy aromatic and resinous hops, flowery, roses, fruity, citrus, oranges, pineapples, grapefruits. The flavour is, on a solid malty backbone, an overwhelming aromatic hoppy bitterness, yeast, fruity, grapefruits, oranges. The mouthfeel is fizzy, sparkling and very smouth. This medium bodied IPA has a lingering hoppy bitter finish. A very nice tasting and pleasant IPA.

It pours a light amber with a thick and dimpled white head and copious lacing. An aroma of caramel malts, hops, pine, grapefruit, pineapple, honey, and some spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth and slightly rich. Flavors of caramel/butterscotch malts, hops, grapefruit, pineapple, honey, slight bitterness and spiciness. This is solid ... one of the better IPAs I've tried in awhile, I love the flavor...

Bottled@Orsted Olbar, Copenhagen. Hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, nectar, grass and some mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is nectar, tropical fruits, some grass as well. Pleasantly balanced. Very nice brew.

Aroma is strong, hoppy and woody with a hint of grapefruit. It pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a thick, fluffy white head that sticks around a bit and leaves some nice lacing. Flavor is hoppy, woody and fairly bitter with an undertone of sour citrus that is more orange than grapefruit. Fizzy, fairly zingy texture leaves a hoppy and tingly finish with just a little bitterness.

Sampled on 9/15/2010. This IPA pours a medium orange color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is citrusy and fruity. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruiy and sweet. The hops are citrusy and grapefruity. Medium bitter IPA. Nice carbonation. Nice IPA, hoppy and bitter without being overwhelming. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is bready caramel malts and melon with some piney resiny hops.
The flavor is a little oxidized malt and a touch of fruit followed by a huge harsh tarry bitterness. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and watery.
Overall, a bitter IPA, but not that great. Didn't care for the oxidized notes, the watery texture or the harsh tarry unbalanced bitterness. -

Big hoppy beer! Burnished copper in color, great carbonation, fluffy head and blanketing lacing. Lemon, orange, grapefruit, honey and ceral scents are exceptionally pleasant. Big and malty with a huge hop presence, bitter aftertaste and a faint sweetness. Sticky citrus hops that are very fresh and floral. Note of honey, caramel and glazed doughnuts.

This is a beer I have wanted to try for some time. It's now available in Chicagoland and that makes me one happy camper. Pours a clear, amber color with a small eggshell colored head, which quickly recedes, but leaves some nice spider web type lacing on the sides of my glass. Candied grapefruit, orange/tangerine rind, lychee nuts and fresh pine cones on the nose. The tastes mimics the aromas, with a bit a malt to balance the flavor before the bitter hop finish kicks in. Mouthfeel is full and robust. My expectations of this beer were probably a bit unrealistic (I love local, small breweries), but my own personal hype did not sway me in my evaluation of this brew. This is an outstanding IPA from Michigan, a state with numerous, high end breweries (Bell's, Founders, Dark Horse, New Holland). Definitely recommended for hopheads.

This was an excellent beer from a beer tap, knocked my socks off so to speak. Was really impressed. The bottle i got might of been on a shelf for a long time in my earlier try of this beer. This was a great beer on tap.

A pretty average IPA, pours a bit dark with a white head. Smells hoppy. A very average IPA in all aspects, the bottle claims it is a 'theme park in your mouth' and I'm not so sure about that.
