Meh, this just wasn't my thing. Way too sweet - to the point it was overbearing. I am sure there are people out there that will dig this, it just isn't me.

A light, bright amber colored beer with a moderate eggshell white soapy head. It settles fairly quickly. Little lacing. Sweet and fruity through and through. Light bodied.

Part of their mixed pack in Vermont. Pours a clean deep amber colour with a frothy warm cap and minimal lacing. Fruity aromas with mild pears in there. Smells good, but the taste is too light. A little fruity but mostly yeasty with some weird grainy malt finish. Wet mouthfeel, a little oily. A little thin. Ok, but nothing too powerful. Better fruit beers out there.

Pours a dark amber color, clear, with an eggshell-white head of about a finger. The aroma was sweet and fruity, with a distinct melon aroma. Some bubblegum notes, possibly yeast characters. There's a hint of citrus hops in there, though it's a bit muddled by the fruit. The taste was lightly bitter, with a fruit-like tartness. After a few more sips, it becomes a bit more bitter. The mouthfeel was light, but slick and crisp.

Pours a dark clear amber with not much head. Malty aroma has fruity overtone - definitely the prickly pear fruit. Flavor is fruity, a little sweet, with a malty undertone. Tingly texture seems a bit thin. Overall, not too shabby.

Clear light amber with small light brown foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma is sweet pear, taste is quite unique. Bitter and sweet pear are fighting to win. Short aftertaste. (Velp 201301)

A golden color with a white head. The aroma contains some apricots, oranges, and mango?. A floral presence fo real. The flavor is a bit odd with some citrus and I dunno herbal notes going on. Perhaps I’m just not verse enough in the prickly pear to properly get all the flavors down. But overall its an ok hot weather beer.

Pretty much bought the mix 6 for this one as the prickly pear intrigued me. Not super complex or mind blowing or anything, but most likely the best Shiner to date. The fruit is done well. Enough in the aroma and flavor that you don't have to work for it, but light enough as to not be overbearing. Light refreshing flavor. Slightly sweet with some floral hops and a light bready backbone.
