Shiner Oktoberfest

Bottle: Drank out of the bottle like a man. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel. Taste was similar caramel, malty, rugged finish, light bitterness.

12oz bottle pours clear deep copper with quick white head. The mild aroma is sugary malts, floral hops, faint graininess, lagery yeast and a sense of spicy hops or some slightly acidic off note. The taste is similar with sugary sweetness resembling dextrose infused maltiness, some growing spice and faint sweet ester like notes. Floral and sweet lagery notes greet you into the finish. Near the end of the bottle this one has grown on me some with a mix of graininess and slight esteriness. Likely on of the better Shiner brews I’ve had to date.

Taps pretty clear amber with a thick, fine-bubbled off-white head. Malty aroma has a nice fruity note. Mouth-filling flavor is fruity, almost entirely apple, and malty with just a hint of caramel. Crisp, smooth texture is quite fizzy and leaves a fruity, tingly finish.

i remember actually kinda not minding the 96 Shiner, this is nothing like it .. . dirty caramel socks in the nose.. . weak and muddled, like a "mr beer" brew, which seems to be what all shiner beers are made on these days .. . ya, i'm gonna pay you to draw all over my shoes??, dumb whore...
