Brewed with chocolate malt and real cocoa, Our new chocolate stout is the perfect way to celebrate 106 years at the " Little Brewery" in Shine. It has a soft creamy head and slightly sweet finish, but enjoy it while you can. Once this party's over you'll have to wait until next year for another birthday surprise.

Pours opaque dark chocolate brown that lets through a peep of ruby light at the bottom and has a thick, fluffy, tan head. Aroma has firm chocolate, roast malt, and quality coffee tones. Flavor is quite sweet - like birthday cake! Chocolate dominates the flavor, but lets roast malt and coffee notes to share the stage. Texture is thin for a stout, and lacks fizz. Still, the sweet chocolate cake flavor makes you feel as if you are at a birthday party. OK, Shiner, here are 106 swats to the patooty - and one to grow on. May you have at least 106 more birthdays!

My uncle saved this beer for me. This was a REALLY chocolatey beer, but more like a chocolate syrup than a chocolate bar. It was milk chocolate, not dark/bitter, and was uber sweet. It smelled like chocolate milk. A tad too sweet for me, but it was a nice attempt by Shiner. I certainly wouldn't kick it out of bed.

Pretty much smells and tastes like chocolate (birthday) cake. Makes the balance lean towards the sweet side. Could use some more hops, but that is the way the style is I guess. Room for improvement...though drinkable, I'd say more of a dessert-ish stout.

Tasting at Rockwell Tavern. Clear black, light brown foam ring. Chocolate aroma and chocolate taste all over. Happy Birthday to all present. (Houston 201501)

A rich blackness in color with a big light brown frothy textured head rising above. There's some hang time on the head. It settles into a well defined ringlet. Everything about this beer is cocoa powder and chocolayr nibs. Thin, highly effervescent. Nice dessert .

Really nice rich chocolate aroma with some hints of sweetbread. Usual vlack both with a fizzy head that receeds quickly and leaves the occasional spot of lace. Mouthfeel is thin and prickly, i think its a bit overcarbonated. Flavor fall a bit short from the aroma the chocolate and cocoa are muted with some sweetnees, almost like cake flavor, and lactose. Overall its drinkable, and im glad to see these guys try a stout, not bad for a first try.
