This unique beer is the result of the long friendship of Schneider brewmaster Hans-Peter Drexler and Brooklyn brewmaster Garrett Oliver. The two brewmasters feel that Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse represents the quality, tradition and terroir of the Bavarian Hallertauer hop region paired with the innovation and creative energy for which Brooklyn is famous. The brewers at The Brooklyn Brewery eagerly await the July visit of Hans-Peter Drexler, when they will create Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse in Brooklyn. This will be a very similar beer, fermented with the Schneider yeast, but it will be dry-hopped with American hops selected by Hans-Peter Drexler.

Pours a dark orangish color with a large white head that hangs around its a while. The aroma is malt , hops and fruit. The taste is fruit, hops and malt. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with excellent carbonation.

Pours clear topaz with a thick and frothy ivory head. Aroma yields tangy and sweet fruit - citrus, tropical, stonefruit - plus raw malt and a hoppy hint. Flavor provides tart and sweet citrus, stone and tropical fruit - strong streaks of orange, peach and pineapple - along with resiny hops and raw malt. Texture brings decent smooth body and peppy fizz. Tap and Prost anytime, anywhere.

Part of a back to back challenge with the Brooklyn version. The pour is a turbid golden-orange color with a huge pillowy white head that lingers. The nose is fruity with wheat, bubble gum, light citrus, and yeast. Muothfeel is average, slippery. The flavor is sweet wheat malt, and some yeast notes. Definitely the better of the two versions

Pours a big frothy white head and has a hazy orangey appearance with sediments visible. Thick lacing. Aromas are a bit perfumy, some oranges, strong yeasty notes. Flavours are quite fruity, wheaty and yeasty. Oranges and citrus hops abound. Yeast and bananas are fairly strong in this one. Some mild spices. Full bodied mouthfeel. Slight warming and tingling sensation. Goes down very well. Quite affordable and great tasting so no complaints there.

My bottle doesn't say anything about Brooklyn, this just says "Schneider Weisse Hopfen Weisse" but it appears to be the same beer. Murky honey brown, with a sticky rocky cap floating on top. Aroma is intreaging, apple, massive yeast, grape, big spice, citrusy hops but not over powering. I dig this beer. Taste is sweet and sticky, loads of yeast, lemon, peach, spice. There is no wrong with this beer. Toasted wheat is so very sweet.......... lemon is dominating the after taste. Starting to pick up on big hops hiding in the beer. I could drink the hell out of this beer!!!!

A murky yellow-brown colored beer with a three fingerfrothy textured, white head. There's a decent hang time on that head. Settles into a thick tinglet Lots of yeast, wheat and citrus in the nose. Add to that loads of bananas, cloves in the tasting. Light and crisp. Well carbonated.

Did a Schneider tasting over the weekend, all were delicious. Colour - dark golden brown, hazy, fluffy tab head. Aroma - banana, spice, citrus, yeast, and wheat. Mouthfeel - medium bodied. Flavour - sweet malt, spices, and yeast. Overall - excellent.

Aromas of spices, banana, wheat, and some orange/ apple going on as well. Nice mouthfeel, slightly sticky and full with a dry finish. Flavor was about the same as the aromas with the clove, banana, and wheat in the lead, and the fruity hops playing the complementary role. A very nice beer for sure, i would certainly buy it again.

Better than expected. Tried their dopplebock first, so was expecting this to be a non-dark/hoppier version of that. This reminds me more of a Belgian ale than a Hef as stated on the bottle. Not as hoppy as I would have thought, but all the flavors are working together. Aroma is not that typical wheaty semi-skunky, but has a lot going on with the fruits, hops, etc. Pretty smooth mouthfeel too. This beer is comparable to some of the better Belgians out there. Will be sampling again.

Now that the Germans and Americans are allies, we make beer....good beer. Hazy gold, hite head, and aroma of wheat malt, spices, and banana. The flavour is slightly sweet, refreshing, with citrus, wheat, and spice. Love this brew!
