A very very good dark brew. Aroma is very good. Taste is top notch. nice fluffy white head. Can't say more good things about this brew. Tap and bottled it is very good. Will defiantly have again.

Sampled this one at the brewery during the tour/tasting - the only selection that was only available on draft (all other samples were bottled.) Dark brown color, cream colored head of an inch of foam. Smell of toasted caramel, nice aroma. Solid flavor, dark malt, a bit nutty, nice floral hop finish. Good body, not too heavy, smooth, east to drink sessional. Doesn't get super high marks, but was one of my favorites on the day. I would definatley have another if it was available.

Slightly better than other Schell's offerings. Considering the dark brown pour, this beer has a light mouthfeel, maybe a little watery. Aroma and taste both malty, maybe a hint of chocolate and nuts.

Interestingly, this is in a clear 12 oz bottle with a twist off cap. Pour is like root beer. Has a very yeasty aroma with possibly some malt olfactory too. Good initial carbonation. Malty flavors on the first taste. Flavor is quite interesting and there does not seem to be any offensive hop bitterness. The taste buds seem to pick up mostly malty and alky flavors, taste seems to have much more alky in it than the 4.8% listed here. Finish is somewhat roasty without being over the top and that alky malty hint hangs for a while after the session.

Pours a dark semi clear brown colour with a medium sized tan head. Head is quick to dissapear, leaving behind little lacing. Almonds, oak and raisins on the nose. Taste is lighter then i expected. Lacks a solid mouthfeel, slightly watery on the palate.

This is the stuff they sell at the German tent at the fair every year. Even the people that say "I hate dark beer" like it. One of my favorites, very drinkable for a "dark" beer.

Out of the bottle. Almost no head. Dark red amber. A little malt aorma. It has the metallic aftertaste that others have mentioned. A decent light beer, but nothing special.

GREAT dark lager. This is by far the best dark lager I have tried and will continue to buy this. Although this is a dark beer it was not filling and not overpowering. A very drinkable beer one after the other.

I would agree that the head diminished quickly. I thought this was a pretty mild tasting beer for the darkness it portrayed when poured. I would say that it's above average however.
