Wholesome, delicious and refreshing. What more can you say about a beer brewed with generous amounts of American Wheat Malt. In keeping with the tradition of Dunkel Weizen, we've used a sweet addition of Cara and roast malts to add to the interest. Unfiltered so You'll experience the beer as wheat beers are meant to be enjoyed. Source www.saranac.com

Saranac 12 Beers of Summer 12-pack
Aroma - some light scorched sugar, banana, and white grape juice
Appearance - cloudy cream soda colored body, fluffy 2" white head with some decent lacing and nice retention
Taste - taste seemed to take a step back from the aroma, but it was still decent. Light chocolate notes, cardboard, grainy..
Palate - slightly sticky, medium bodied, finishes quickly
Overall - another decent beer in the 12-pack. Probably my least favorite so far, but not by much. -

started out with an above average aroma, but other than that it was an average amber colored american wheat. nice use of malts, but it was pretty simple. won't revisit.

Sampled on 5/15/2010. This dunkelweizen pours a mostly clear amber brown color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent retention. The aroma is caramel malts, some fruitiness and a hint of banana. A medium bodied ‘dunkel’. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are herbal and slightly spicy. Decent carbonation. Not quite sure is this is supposed to be a wheat, an amber, a dunkel weizen or some hybrid of the three. It kind of has aspect of all three. Very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

The first beer to be sampled on the deck this season. Poured a copper amber with cloudiness from being unfiltered. The aroma was quite average. It smelled like beer. There was a refreshing tartness to the flavor with out it tasting like wheat straw or relying on adding fruit. This was an enjoyable and refreshing wheat that I could honestly say " you know another would taste pretty good"
