To commemorate our 25th anniversary, Santa Fe Brewing has created Saison 88, a Belgian-style, farmhouse ale. Brewed with German pilsner malt and American wheat, it pours a pale, unfiltered straw color with a snowy white head. Saison 88 is generously hopped with traditional Czech noble hops and a splash of citrusy American originals, Simcoe and Cascade. With our own Galisteo farmhouse origins in mind, we fermented it with a fruity Belgian yeast balancing black pepper notes and a citrus finish. Saison 88 is a bright, crisp, easy-drinking ale, true to our rustic origin and perfect to quench the thirst of a hot day. Availability: Summer 2013 Starting Gravity: 13.5 degrees Plato Ending Gravity: 3 degrees Plato Malts: Pilsner, America White Wheat, Vienna Hops: Cluster, Saaz, Simcoe, Cascade Yeast: Belgian Alcohol Content: 5.5%

Pours a pale, straw yellow color with a thin, white head. Spice and citrus in the aroma; lemon and coriander; bready. Initial flavors are like the aroma with peppery flavors and a touch of hop bitterness added to the mix. Light bodied; crisp, clean, and dry finish. Overall its fairly decent, worth a try.

Solid bright peppery grassy Saison. Bright yellow, big cap. Yeasty flavor with some nice hops and a soft prickly feel. Dry finish. Slightly tart. I could go back to this...

12 oz can. Pours slightly hazy yellow with a monstrous bubbly white head that retains well an leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is earthy yeasty wheaty malts with some spice.

The flavor is sweet bready malts with some spice (coriander, clove) and a little banana. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, an OK beer. More wheat than saison.
