Hazy & Juicy The slight sweetness is perfectly balanced by the pineapple and grapefruit hop character, without being overly bitter. Clocking in at 6.8% ABV and a low 35 IBUs, the unfiltered IPA provides a burst of fruited hop aroma and leaves drinkers wanting another sip. In comparison to West Coast style IPAs which have prominent hop bitterness and a light, dry mouthfeel, New England IPA’s are generally known for a juicy, luscious mouthfeel and opaque, hazy appearance - and are best enjoyed fresh. MALT VARIETIES: Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend, white wheat, golden naked oats HOP VARIETIES: Galaxy, Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra, Cascade

The beer pours a very murky pale gold colour with a generous foamy off-white cap which doesn’t last too long. The aroma is tropical fruit, grains, pine, and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is tropical fruit, weak opine and spices, grass, and a very weak hoppy finish. Not a fan! -

Pours hazy, barely translucent apricot with a thick and persistent eggshell head. Aroma features dank and resiny hops, tangy citrus and tropical fruit, woody and malty underpinnings. Flavor yields evergreen hops, fresh malt, citrus, dank and tropical tones. Texture offers fair body and good fizz. About time Sam Adams brewed a New England IPA!

Can from Trader's Joe in Portland, ME. Pours a hazy light golden-yellow colour with a big frothy warm cap, good retention and some foamy lace. Citrus nose with oranges, grapefruits and some sweetness blending from sugars. The taste of hops gives out citrus notes, but not too bitter. Mild dry mouthfeel. Alright, but not the juicy New England IPA I was expecting. Nothing like the great ones for the style.
